Quick hitter/testimony from hip hop veterans Smif N Wessun off an album just released, ‘The All” 

You’ll see on the ‘track list’ that this is the first ‘actual song’ on the new album, from a duo that came out during the 90’s. A time considered, the golden age of hip hop. The video is simple, and yet takes things back to the roots. Clearly filming on a block with loved ones, giving y’all a few bars to chew on….

This beat the first time I ever testify
The homie looked me in my eye,
told me he heard Smif-N-Wessun died
That statement takes us to a new zone
Fool what’chu on?
Thinkin’ what would the write up on our tombstone?
Would they protect God’s legacy or reject it?
End of the day respect just a matter of perspective

like Sean Price resurrected

Bars might go over a few heads, but this truly is a testimonial out the gate.

Is Hip Hop Dead … or will the true leaders of the NEW take ‘the culture’ back? Rest in Peace, to Sean P, one of the realest to ever do this. Drawing a comparison between “Peter” of the bible, rejecting Jesus when he was arrested, for claiming to be God. Again, coming from MC’s who were some of the first, to tell the black man and woman listening to their music, that we are, gods.

That kind of conversation would not be tolerated, by the higher ups of society. Not the first time we’ve shared heat from these two on AH – below you can check out one of their classics, that we posted on here in 2017…. The mighty Boot Camp Clik had heavy influences on this era. Sean P, really held it down for BCC until his untimely death in 2015.  So it’s great to see Smif N Wessun return… great that they can ‘Testify’ to all they’ve seen in Hip Hop. They’ve been through enough tests to have a testimony!

Smartwater tells us “The All” may be a contender for ‘Album of the Year’ … stay tuned.
