The girl with the flowers in the video is a representation of death. It’s Mental Health Awareness month here in May of 2017, and so this video is timely.  Dedicated to Capital Steez, who unfortunately took his own life back in 2012, this video sneaks up on you. We need to make it okay to talk about mental health issues in our environments to help prevent these unfortunate events from happening. Far too many people are struggling in silence, like the guy in this video.

You probably had no idea he was thinking about it, until the end.

Because of the message, the song, and the dedication to an artist who gave hip hop his best while he was here, 5 fists :: while this video is clearly encouraging anyone who’s thinking about it to step away from the ledge, it also speaks to giving each other flowers while we can still smell them.
