(Echo Review) Swizz Beatz Brings Nas Out

"Echo" by Swizz Beatz featuring Nas

AH Video Review Rated:

The, Red, White and Blue coloring stands out in this track from Swizz Beatz, featuring Nas … Echo. The video is pretty ‘plain’, and I am not sure if they were trying to communicate a message with the Asian ballerina dancer. But, for the most part, Swizz and Nas walk through interesting sets, and I’ll be honest with you.  For a song like this, with the topics Nas is hitting on, I would have loved to see some ‘visuals’ that matched up.

Why doesn’t a dollar stay in black communities as long as it does in others?  Why do the youth, seem to have an entire language of their own that ‘old heads’ are not comprehending? Perhaps Swizz had a deadline and just wanted to get something out. Maybe the director hired just didn’t have the same ‘vision’ to bring these lyrics to life – is that not the point of a video? (or at least, should that  be?) – Echo, is a decent song, but the video does not do it justice.

Giving this video for Echo by Swizz Beatz 2 cash stacks.

Looks like they were attempting to show off how much cash they have to pay for sets like these; which always waters down the message – if any. When Nas is on the mic, usually there is a message. Over the course of his career, rarely has he let his fanbase down. Many will give him a pass on anything he’s attached to at this point. Which is why I blame this on the director. My best guess is they were going after a presentation of, Fly nigga shit.

As “there is a Time and place for all things… ”  ….loops in my echo chamber …
